About Me
I am currently a student at Ball State University majoring in General Biology with a focus in Aquatic Biology and Fisheries. I have a minor in Meteorology and Climatology as well as a certificate in Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
My current research interests include the impact of climate change on fish populations and coastal communities. My goal for future research is to work with communities on actionable solutions when facing the threat of climate impacts, whether that be working with coastal fishing communities on mitigating the effects of lessened fish availability or helping communities adapt to a climate-focused future.
My love of learning and educating is a major motivator in life, highlighted by my past as a preservice teacher while I was in the Life Science Education program at Ball State. My hobbies include kayaking, hammocking, and playing ukulele. I love camping and getting out to scenic areas, as fueled by my time with Scouts BSA on my path to being one of the first female Eagle Scouts in the United States.
Notable Severe Storms: My most recent project, a research project for a GEOG 101 course, detailing the devastating events of the 2011 Super Outbreak in Alabama and the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane using ArcGIS StoryMaps.
